John's work is brave and filled with humour. He turns his camera towards edgy subjects - funeral homes, cult groups, and rough housing estates. His photographs shine light on matters we might otherwise avoid, providing us wonderful, sharp images, brimming with story, which we can use to check our own reactions and prejudices.

John's latest work at the Crypt Homeless shelter is to be shown as part of the 'Something of the night' exhibition at the Leeds City Art UK gallery in October 2005.

An exhibition of his work in Airports 'Terminal Transit' will be shown in 2006.

Work continues with the Jesus Army and a book of this work is
planned in late 2006.

His latest book in collaboration with Young's fish that is a document of the World's fishing communities is due to be launched in the Autumn of 2005.

Biography of John Angerson

For the past decade photographer John Angerson has worked around the world on assignment for a variety of international publications.

During this time he has brought his unique perspective to a diverse array of subjects, from the new South Africa to space exploration. He has gained many prestigious awards including Ilford Photographer of
the Year.

To date, 3 books of his personal work have been published as well as many solo exhibitions across the UK and Europe. His work with the Jesus Army - a controversial religious cult has recently been shown at the Visa Pour L'image festival in Perpignan, France.
