Amnon describes his surrounds - simple everyday objects, and people, with an immaculate realist technique.

He paints moments that strike him, the way light can enter a room dramatically through windows and doors, and reflect on flesh, bed sheets or other shiny household items.

Each time, he manages to add a touch of magic, and sparkle of mystery to things which might be called ?ordinary,? showing us that he knows his subjects well.

Biography of Amnon David Ar

Amnon was born in Israel, and studied at the Arts and Crafts Municipal High School of Tel Aviv. After graduating, he spent two years studying the anatomy of the arts with Oswald Adler. Following this, he spent one year at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. The following year was spent as the the student of Abraham Bykov. During his studies, he worked as an illustrator and caricaturist for book publishers, magazines and newspapers including Ma'ariv and Yediot-Aharonot. Amnon has exhibited widely in Israel, including at the Tel Aviv Museum of Fine Arts, the JANCO Dada Museum, Ein Hod, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and the Museum of Israeli Art, Ramat Gan.
